Hello…I’m Vivian and welcome to my blog. I was born and raised in the plains of Alabama; however, moved away during what we now know as the “migration” to Chicago. It was during the years in Alabama (living with Jim Crow) that I became an avid reader. It was my escape from life as I knew it. Reading made me “a ready man”, taking me places I would not have gone, learning about things I would not have known nor experienced. Reading created the space for me to imagine the impossible.
From the beginning, my life is one of abandonment and the reason why I’m at last creating a blog with hopes the anecdotes I write about will encourage, inspire and motivate others to believe for the impossible when the odds are stacked against. My life experience includes the early introduction to Jesus and he becoming my Lord and Savior. Even though abandonment marked the beginning and other intervals of my life, as a Follower and Believer of Jesus Christ, the details of it have been intricately orchestrated and woven into something beautiful.
I am married almost 53 years now. I and my husband have traveled six of the seven continents and devoted time to five mission trips…South Africa, the Middle East, Namibia and Cuba. I continue my life long love of reading and “With The Needle” pursue my passion for creating things of beauty by sewing, crocheting, knitting an cross-stitching. I currently live in Hoover, Alabama with husband, William and Westie, Cooper. I am affiliated and at home with Church of the Highland.
I invite you to come along with me as I share my journey.
